Organizations often already have data in a variety of forms, whether or not they are recognized as such. Such data might be in the form of internal structured data (e.g., surveys, web analytics), internal unstructured data (e.g., security videos, customer feedback), external structured data (e.g., social media followers, numerical online ratings), or external unstructured data (e.g., online forum conversations, comments on ratings sites). We not only mine but also interpret these data, either individually (one or more selected types of data) or collectively (all forms of existent data together). Our interpretation services uncover patterns and narratives in the data, so that they become meaningful units of information with a depth and breadth that can be understood and made actionable throughout the organization.
As organizations develop, they may need information that has not yet been collected, so that they can understand, for example, employee or customer satisfaction, or their capacity to expand in a new direction. They also may need to update or supplement existing data that are obsolete or insufficient in order to obtain the most comprehensive understanding of their organization as possible. In these cases, we collect and analyze new data necessary for organizations to continue to grow and thrive, using a variety of quantitative, qualitative, and evaluation methods tailored to address each specific need.
Organizations are often unsure of what to do with data after it has been collected and analyzed, and so sometimes even useful data can go to waste. When sufficient data have been gathered and interpreted using appropriate methodological and analytic approaches, we draw on insights from implementation science to help organizations implement their insights in order to most effectively improve organizational function and practice.
Some organizations seek to build their own internal resources in order to support ongoing learning and future data collection and analysis efforts. We provide guidance on and best practices for employee development and research infrastructure improvements, as well as a variety of in-depth trainings designed to increase organizations’ research capacity and employees’ methodological and analytic skill sets.
